CIMNET User Conference 2004 a Success
Robesonia, PA, December 1, 2004
CIMNET ® , Inc. (OTC BB: CIMK), a leading developer of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and Manufacturing Intelligence software, announced today that its first annual User and Partner Conference held in Orlando, Florida was a successful event with over 60 customers and partners in attendance. CIMNET planned a more intimate setting for its first conference, electing to only invite a small set of core users and partners.
The three day event included training on CIMNET's products including the Factelligence® Industrial Portal and their MES and SCADA modules. In addition, CIMNET secured speakers from Microsoft and SAP to discuss future development plans within Microsoft on the .NET Framework and the partnership established between CIMNET and SAP for NetWeaver Shop Floor certification. The keynote address, delivered by Mr. Steven Rourke, Publisher for MSI Magazine, focused on global manufacturing trends and key hot topics in the world of software automation. Mr. Sundar Ramayya, CEO of Entcomm and a member of the board of directors of CIMNET, also presented their unified strategy with CIMNET for supply chain collaboration and lean initiatives.
"CIMNET is squarely on top of automation information needs with their new Industrial Portal utilizing the Microsoft .NET framework, states Mr. Steven Rourke, Publisher for MSI Magazine. Their vision of combining Business Intelligence, SCADA and complete MES functionality in a unified secure Portal with real-time, certified interfaces to SAP and other key ERP systems represents what manufacturers need to compete in a global, compliance conscious and security oriented manufacturing environment."
"Because Factelligence IP is built on top of the .NET Framework, it can rapidly integrate with and extend the existing technology assets of a manufacturing enterprise," states Mr. John Shipway, ISV Developer Evangelist for Microsoft.
During the training sessions, CIMNET presented its current offerings to the attendees including their latest release, Factelligence Industrial Portal. Factelligence IP provides a manufacturing portal for a unified view of manufacturing data, all utilizing the architecture of Microsoft's .NET Framework. The portal includes connections to a variety of data sources including OPC, OLE DB, Factelligence MES modules, Adroit SCADA server and web services, among others.
"We have always been impressed by the modular nature of CIMNET's software offerings and the open connectivity of the design," states Mr. Chris Dunn, President of CB Automation. "This generation of .NET products takes factory intelligence software to the next level. The addition of the Factelligence Industrial Portal technology will improve performance and reduce our customers total cost of ownership at the same time. We feel it widens the gap between the older architectures and puts us 18 months to 2 years ahead of the competition."
